Brenna

Registered Veterinary Technician

My name is Brenna and I am a registered veterinary technician at Centretown Veterinary Hospital. I have had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember. I graduated from the veterinary technician program at Algonquin College in 2013 then successfully completed my national examination.

Centretown has always been a big part of my career. Living in the area I was happy to be one of the very first clients, coming with my cat on the day the hospital opened. Before going to college I spent a year and a half volunteering at the hospital to learn as much as I could. After going off to expand my learning I was able to rejoin the Centretown team in January of 2018.

As an RVT we wear many hats, and in addition to that, I am the inventory manager and nutritional advocate of Centretown. I love giving back to our community, and since starting here I have launched a successful weight loss program that we offer at no charge, and I have organized donation programs with Sit With Me dog rescue and Cat Rescue Network.

I share my home with my four fur children. Misfit is my senior cat who spends a lot of time at the hospital with me. We always say that in this profession the pets in need find us, and that seems to be true in this case since Misfit suffers from allergies, GI disease, heart disease and is currently in diabetic remission. I have 2 Ragdoll brothers name Mordecai and Alaska who are a constant source of joy, and a very happy senior Golden Retriever named Lola.

I am happy and grateful to come in to work every day knowing that I am making a difference in the lives of so many animals.
