Dr. Katie Welmers graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI in 2008. Upon graduation, she moved to the Ottawa area and began her career, working in several small animal practices over the last 16 years. Dr. Katie joined the Centretown Veterinary Hospital in 2022 and enjoys soft tissue surgery, dental care and preventative medicine. Dr. Katie is Fear Free Elite certified, helping decrease the anxiety patients can experience coming to the clinic. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Katie enjoys camping, yoga, gardening and baking. She shares her home with her partner, two children, two dogs and a cat.
