Madison joined our team in October 2024, as a dedicated Veterinary Assistant with a strong background in emergency and general practice medicine. She began her career after attending the Veterinary Technician Program at Algonquin College in 2016 and soon after worked in Emergency, before moving on to the Ottawa Humane Society, where they spent six years caring for animals in need.
Madison grew up in Niagara surrounded by animals. She raised many litters of kittens and cared for several family dogs, sparking a deep passion for animal welfare that has carried into her career. In her adult years, Madison expanded that passion by keeping chickens, ducks, quails and even a cow, continuing to immerse herself in caring for a wide variety of animals
Certified in Fear Free handling, Madison is passionate about patient comfort and well-being, especially when working with pets who struggle with behavioural challenges. They are also deeply committed to wildlife care and has a life long love for all animals.
Outside of the hospital, Madison can be found adventuring with Groot, her spirited 9-year-old Alaskan Husky, whose sass and endless energy keep her smiling every day. Madison also enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time outside. Whether they are relaxing at the beach, exploring a new trail or camping under the stars, she loves connecting with nature and making most of their free time.
