Medicine: Musculoskeletal
Boo (Age 7) in her cast after having jumped from a three story cliff
(she thought the ocean was right there!) She had two screws placed
and the bone fragments looped with wire. She then had complications
with her cast and had to have this bandage type called a “Robert Jones”
to prevent movement of the leg but allow drainage of the skin infection
that crept up. When done properly it should sound like a watermelon
when tapped. Boo thought it felt like a watermelon! She is now 15
years old and still running 5 km’s three times a week!!
This is the medicine of the bones and muscles and how well they are working. Common conditions include broken bones, muscles strains and joint injury.
